Night Out Against Crime

From the Cobble Hill Blog:

Tomorrow, join the 76th Precinct, the Kings County District Attorney’s Office and the Red Hook Community Justice Center for National Night Out Against Crime, where you can gain crime prevention tips and register portable electronics like iPods, laptops, and cell phones in the Operation Identification Program. The event takes place tomorrow, August 4, in Coffey Park (1 Pioneer St, Brooklyn), from 2 pm until 6 pm, and will include food as well as a clown for children.

From the 76th Precinct:  We “etch” the device with invisible, indelible ink, which makes it easier for us to return the property to the owner in the event it is lost or stolen. We will also be registering bicycles, and providing information on our other crime prevention programs, all of which are free of charge.

Some beautiful pics of a day on the farm

Check out Elizabeth Leitzell’s photoblog for some wonderful (you have to see them bigger, trust me!) pictures of a day spent at Added Value.

Saturday morning, I travelled down to Red Hook to check out the farmer’s market and volunteer day at Red Hook Community Farm
